The islands’ diversity is also evident in the enormous range of experiences available on a trip here - shopping, golfing, kayaking, nightlife, hiking, health spas and adventure, the list is endless.
Hawaii - Cultures and Traditions
The islands have a total population of 1.2 million, consisting of a variety of ethnicities including Caucasian, Japanese, Filipino, Chinese as well as Hawaiian. All these cultures and traditions combine to provide Hawaii with its rich history and cultural diversity. From the first Polynesian settlers to the various immigrants of the last two centuries, the islands of Hawaii are a cultural melting pot of food, language and customs.Hawaii is certainly the Aloha state. Commonly heard as a greeting, Aloha is a magical phase that gives Hawaii its nickname, it also means love, kindness and compassion - a living personification of the best of Hawaii and its people.
